parę ciekawych lub mniej ciekawych pytań
- Does Eve wear a bra?
"Does Eve wear a bra or a tank? LOL! Okay, you guys really think about this stuff more than I do, that's for sure. If the outfit or occasion calls for a bra, she'd wear one. She's a lean machine with smallish breasts, so most of the time, a tank would do the job.
- When asked how she came up with the name "Roarke:
"I had the basic idea for Roarke, and wanted a single strong name. Roarke--rhymes with pork--evolved, and like the other characters in the series should continue to evolve. But he became, very quickly, more than I'd imagined."
- When asked if it's ok to name a car "Roarke":
"I can't think of a better name for a car than Roarke. Go for it. You could say stuff this winter like, I've got to go out and turn Roarke on, heat him up."
- On whether the series would end with a pregnancy or a baby:
"Since I'm not even considering a baby for Eve and Roarke any time in the forseeable future, I think you can look forward to many more books."
- On why Eve and Roarke never met before Naked in Death (since so many of Eve's cases cross with Roarke now).
"Eve and Roarke had to meet sometime or, hey, no series. They met, without any prior knowledge of each other, in the first book because from a storytelling angle, that worked best.
As Eve was completely focused on her work up to that point, and Roarke had no interest in cops other than to stay off their radar, it seemed plausible they'd been unaware of each other until that initial meeting.
Fiction is something the writer creates by manipulating plausible reality into a story."
- Nora has said many things about the recurring characters in the series.
"I always love starting an In Death book. One of the problems is there are a number of sub-characters, and many readers have particular favorites. So they're all: We didn't see enough of Mavis or Trina, or Don Webster or Charles, Nadine, whoever, in FRIENDS IN DEATH. And in order to tell the particular story, I may not be able to have that specific character take an active role, or have an extended visit. Some may have no more than a cameo, or--gasp--may not be included at all. But they usually show up for longer in another book."
- Charles Monroe's hair color:
"I've never given Charles's hair and eye color. How strange. I see him as dark-haired--deep brown (the blond highlights are a good touch) with light eyes. Misty green."
